Was chasing something a bit different from the usual takeaway options (think Chinese, Indian, etc.) and stumbled across Ethiopian Village in Moorooka — and I’m so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious — vibrant, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Everything on the platter was unique and satisfying, and the injera was perfect for soaking up all those rich, spiced stews. The service was warm, kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you’re after something authentic, colourful, and outside the ordinary, this place is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back!

The hallway to get to the restaurant was a bit unnerving but once you get there it's okay. I do have to say the food makes the unease worth it. I shared the meat platter and it was spectacular. The spicey drumstick curry (not the name on the menu) was awesome. The lamb and beef were really nice as well. Both myself and my companion left feeling full for $50 really good serving sizes and very tasty. Worth at least a visit.

One of the most underrated hidden gems in Brisbane! This is the definition of a hole in the wall restaurant - only it's right here in the CBD.
Been coming here for years and every visit it's like i'm having this dish for the first time, every time. Ethiopian cuisine is under appreciated but definitely something everyone should try. Couldn't recommend this place high enough!
I recommend going with a group of 3-4 and ordering the mixed combo platter (meat/veg) and spiced tea. Total will only be $10-15 per head. Thank me later! :)

We had a bit of a language barrier but got there in the end 😁 Super nice and the food is delicious, I didn’t eat much because I was full quick but it was really good 🤤🤤
